Introducing the Trimble Roadworks Paving Control Platform for Mills and Cold Planers
Trimble has unveiled its latest innovation, the Trimble Roadworks Paving Control Platform for Mills and Cold Planers, expanding the capabilities of Trimble’s advanced 3D paving control system.
Designed to run on an Android operating system, Trimble Roadworks for Mills and Cold Planers empowers operators to accurately manage the cutting depth of the mill or cold planer based on the project’s design requirements.
This user-friendly system enables operators to meet the most rigorous specifications on complex projects, reducing over-cutting and delivering a smoother surface for applications such as airport runways, highways, and racetracks. The 3D design is visually presented to the machine operator, highlighting areas that are on, above, or below the ideal grade, allowing for real-time comparison of the actual drum position and slope with the digital design. By automatically guiding the milling drum to achieve the ideal depth and slope without the need for string lines or manual adjustments, the platform enhances efficiency and precision.

The milling and cold planing software boasts the same user interface as existing Trimble Roadworks applications, featuring intuitive graphics, natural interactions and gestures, and self-discovery features to streamline operator training. It is also seamlessly compatible with Trimble WorksManager software, facilitating data transfer and equipment tracking across jobsites, as well as Trimble Business Center software for creating 3D milling plans and comprehensive quality and production reports.
