Vonage, a leader in cloud communications for businesses and a part of Ericsson, has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to expedite the release of new solutions to millions of AWS developers through AWS Marketplace.

This collaboration brings together Vonage’s platform – which is based on communications APIs and network APIs connecting to communications service provider networks, Ericsson’s 5G network capabilities, and AWS services. The goal is to develop a suite of solutions that empower customers to drive innovation and enhance overall customer experience using the network.

Kathrin Renz, Vice President of AWS Industries, stated: “AWS and Vonage share a passion for helping customers deliver innovation and value. Working together, we aim to drive new industrial and enterprise applications across industries that combine 5G networks and generative artificial intelligence to fuel new products and enhance the overall customer experience.”

According to Omdia’s Cybersecurity Decision Maker Survey 2023, 92% of organizations experienced a security incident or breach in the previous 12 months. To address these risks, Vonage and AWS will introduce the Vonage Fraud Protection solution on AWS Marketplace, which includes a range of fraud detection and prevention technologies.

The Fraud Protection solution will be enhanced by AWS generative artificial intelligence services to provide businesses with better protection from mobile fraud while improving the customer experience.

Niklas Heuveldop, Vonage CEO and head of business area global communications platform for Ericsson, explained: “By working with AWS, we will accelerate our ability to embed communications and network APIs in applications and deliver new product offerings for AWS and Vonage customers. With network APIs, we are exposing new capabilities from within the 5G network that have never been available before, allowing existing applications to be enhanced with network information and enabling the development of a new class of applications.”

Voicify’s CTO, Nick Laidlaw, also commented on the potential of the Fraud Protection Solution, noting how it will enhance the level of security offered for SMS and telephony, ensuring transactions are secure and valid, and reinforcing their commitment to providing a trusted conversational AI service.
