The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has released a strategy paper outlining its plan to enhance cybersecurity requirements within the healthcare industry. The paper, which can be found at this link, highlights the need for increased cybersecurity measures in response to a 93% surge in large data breaches in healthcare from 2018 to 2022, along with a significant rise in ransomware attacks targeting U.S. hospitals.

This strategy is part of a broader initiative to implement the Biden Administration’s National Cybersecurity Strategy. The HHS is concentrating on four primary goals as part of its strategy.
