Dell Technologies is enhancing AI and Generative AI (GenAI) performance for customers with new enterprise data storage advancements and validation with the NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD AI infrastructure.

Arthur Lewis, president of Infrastructure Solutions Group at Dell Technologies, emphasized the critical role of storage performance in achieving successful AI and GenAI outcomes. He stated, “Customers depend on us to continually push the boundaries of storage innovation, including eliminating data access bottlenecks that hinder the throughput and scalability of compute-intensive applications. We are committed to delivering fast, efficient, and secure data access to unlock the full potential of AI and GenAI.”

Meeting the Need for High Performance and Efficiency in AI Storage

Dell PowerScale, the world’s most flexible, secure, and efficient scale-out file storage system, introduces new advancements to address the growing demand for higher AI and GenAI performance. The latest PowerScale OneFS software enhancements enable companies to prepare, train, fine-tune, and infer AI models more rapidly. Additionally, the new PowerScale all-flash storage systems, based on the latest generation Dell PowerEdge servers, offer up to a 2X performance increase for streaming reads and writes.

PowerScale also introduces a new smart scale-out capability to enhance single compute node performance, leading to faster storage throughput for AI training, checkpointing, and inferencing.

Validation of Dell PowerScale for NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD

Dell’s collaboration with NVIDIA has led to the validation of a combination of NVIDIA DGX systems, Dell PowerScale storage, and NVIDIA Quantum-2 InfiniBand and Spectrum Ethernet networking to achieve faster and more efficient AI storage. This validation is expected to make Dell’s solution the first ethernet storage solution validated on NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD.

Bringing AI to Data Anywhere

Dell offers customers the freedom to process data wherever it makes the most sense for them, whether on premises, at the edge, or in public clouds. The company’s APEX File Storage for Microsoft Azure provides enterprise-class file performance and management capabilities in Azure, catering to the needs of performance-intensive AI and machine learning applications.
